That buzzing you heard recently in the B of A Forum wasn’t the latest gossip, it was the sound of electric razors–raising funds for No-Shave November.
For the entire month, everything from manes to mustaches were left untouched in hopes of enticing the highest bidder with an irresistible canvas for creating some…clip art. Would-be barbers turned out to raise just over $25K (and more than doubling last year’s bidding) for Challenge for Charity.
C4C is an organization of West Coast business schools that raises funds and contributes volunteer hours to the Special Olympics and a charity of each school’s choosing. (Berkeley-Haas contributes to the Alameda Point Collaborative.)
Anthony Baldor, who sported a punctuation mark on the back of his head said the look matched his reputation for “sitting in the front of class and asking a lot of questions.” He also routinely shaves his head so was pretty flexible about the new look, although, he says, “We did get some curious looks in a bar later that night.” All worth it, according to Baldor. “It’s always fun to give a good friend a hard time…for charity, of course!”
